Misty Evans

In September, Misty Evans is writing the first draft of the fourth book in her Super Agent Series, Launch, as well as editing the second installment of her Witches Anonymous series – a Christmas story titled Jingle Hells.

Misty is also working with her new Carina Press editor, Charlotte Hersher, on the dark, sexy paranormal FBI novella, Soul Survivor, to be released Valentine’s Day, 2011.

Along with all that, Misty hopes to squeeze in some time to hit the beach when her family moves to Florida in September.

Kathy Holmes

Kathy Holmes often says that she was "Born in the City of Angels, raised on Walt Disney, and inspired by the dreams of both." Maybe she should say something about being conceived in San Francisco, but it doesn't sound quite as poetic. Her agent said that she had a poetic, almost lyrical writing style and she'll be forever grateful to her for saying that. Kathy grew up halfway between Disneyland and the beach with influences from nearby Hollywood during the Mad Men era. No wonder there's usually some sort of retro scene in her writing.

Tantalized by the tropics since Adam Troy set sail on the Kon Tiki in James A. Michener's "Adventures in Paradise," Kathy has traveled to tropical destinations such as Hawaii, Florida, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Asia Pacific. Eventually, she moved to Florida where she wrote and secured representation for Real Women Wear Red. She also wrote for Walt Disney World and the Orlando Sentinel.

The Tom Jones Club begins in Orlando and finds its way to Las Vegas. But no surprise there - the first time she saw Las Vegas she about seven-years-old when her step dad, attempting to quit smoking, drove the family to Las Vegas to keep his hands busy playing craps. Somebody said that this was the funniest bio they'd ever read, and she happens to agree with them about the "playing craps to quit smoking" part. Life is fully of ironies because she's now living in Las Vegas with her husband and their three furry kids. Website: www.kathyholmes.net

Layla Hunter's love of romance began at age of eleven when her Nanny (referred to lovingly as 'Nanns') slipped her a couple True Romance comic books, along with her first romance, and it was love at first sight. Before long, she was writing her own stories and has been doing so for over three decades.  Along with erotic romance, she enjoys writing fantasy/paranormal and contemporary.

A New Jersey native, she currently resides in an 1890 Folk Victorian with her husband and daughter, slowly returning to its former beauty. They share this century-old home with a bevy of delightfully comical cats. Oh, and let’s not forget the ‘ghost mice’ … unseen to the human eye, her cats dutifully chase these invisible intruders throughout the house at three o’clock in the morning.

Although the siren call of writing commands most of her time, she also enjoys reading, photography, ghost hunting, belly dancing, shooting sports, movies, music, and actively supports several causes near and dear to her heart.

Layla has published several erotic shorts in an online magazine, Every Night Erotica, as well as had one of her short stories, Dark Desire, included in XOXO Publishing’s Halloween Anthology, Vol. 1, released October, 2010.

She’s most excited about joining the Secret Cravings Publishing family and her first novella, Skin Deep, is being released February 9, 2011!

Butterfly-inducing romance and a deep emotional connection between her characters are integral to her writing, as is giving readers a chance to escape into her character’s world for a little while where they can be assured of a HEA (or at the very least, a HFN ending). She loves hearing from her readers, fellow writers, and is happy to answer all e-mails.

She is a member of RWA, NJRW, LSFW, Passionate Ink, FF&P RWA, Elements RWA, Erotic Readers & Writers Association, Savvy Authors, Absolute Write, Romance Divas, GoodReads.com and Romance in the Backseat, where she entered and won the 2010 New Year’s Writer’s Rumble with her entry Karma (of which she is in the process of completing), and has several WIP's.

My romantic suspense novella, “Murder, Mi Amore,” from The Wild Rose Press is scheduled for release December 15, 2010. I will be participating in blog tours beginning December 15. More about them later.

For now, I’ve recently sold another short story to the Trues, this time True Confession. The story, tentatively titled “A Thankful Heart,” will be published in the November issue. I’ve sold seven stories to the Trues in nine months. I love writing for the confession magazines. I’m getting ready to begin submitting my paranormal romance, “Cursed Mates,” sometime in early September.

Michelle Miles

Michelle Miles found her love of writing buried in the fantasy books of Patricia A. McKillip and the beautiful romances of Victoria Holt. It wasn’t until her high school years she decided to take up the pen and try her hand at writing. She created faraway lands, space adventures, and even princesses who just wanted to be saved. Never learning to plot, she always believed that jumping in feet first was the way to go and has since become a self-proclaimed Pantser, writing sexy contemporaries and sizzling action/adventure.

She resides in North Texas with her cat, her Man and her son. Visit her website to sign up for her monthly newsletter and read her daily blog, Ye Olde Inkwell.

It’s as I thought, my Muse has sauntered onto the deck and joined me on the porch swing. So I sit and take notes as fast as I can, because God knows if I don’t write it down immediately, it takes me a day to try and catch the phrase, title, or twist on the subject I’m working on.

So, I’m off and running...no longer enough hours in the day. Further musing’s can be found on September 20th, at the Dames of Dialogue. The topic is still open, because of course; “The Muse” has a heckuva lot to say.
